Situated just 50 minutes north of Lisbon on Portugal's fabled Silver Coast, Praia D'El Rey is arguably one of the most exclusive and stunning resort developments in Europe.

With glorious sunshine, breathtaking beaches, unspoilt countryside, a world-class golf course and luxury accommodation, it's truly a sight to behold.

The Golf

The Praia D'El Rey, 18 hole par 73 championship links course was designed by American architect Cabell B. Robinson, developed and owned by the Portuguese company Béltico Group and was inaugurated on 14th June 1997.

Listed as Portugal's best course in the 2002/2003 Peugeot Golf Guide and rated 13th Best Continental Europe golf course by Golf World magazine, Praia D'El Rey is a favourite to many a golfing fanatic.

The sloping greens and sandy dunes contrast sharply with the lush fairways; with nine of the holes tracing through the pine trees and the other nine hugging the Atlantic cliffs. Praia D'El Rey is a challenging but fair course, which appeals to golfers at every level.

Away From The Course

Praia D'El Rey is a 600 acre (230 hectare) resort set amidst pine forests and dunes, with a spectacular vista over the Atlantic and the stunning Berlenga Islands in the distance.

On the resort, there are a wide range of restaurants offering traditional Portuguese cuisine. Just 30 minutes away are the main vineyards of the region. The medieval town of Óbidos is close by, as is the fishing village of Peniche.

Many of the beaches are popular with surfers and body boarders while others, like Baleal, are perfect for families who just want to paddle and sunbathe.

Praia D'El Rey's growth is built on solid foundations. Over the last 10 years, as well as the award winning golf course, the resort has added over 800 properties, a 5 star Marriott Hotel, a tennis centre, water-sport facilities and a FIFA-standard football arena.

The Property

The Praia D'El Rey's latest launch is The Beachfront, which will appeal to investors interested in top end beach and golf properties along the Silver Coast.

The resort's most unique and prestigious properties to date, these 53 contemporary luxury freehold two, three and four bedroom penthouses, duplexes and apartments come fully furnished and with a three-year five per cent per annum guaranteed rental yield.

If buyers do not wish to take advantage of the guaranteed rental package, they can opt to buy the chosen property unfurnished. The price will therefore be reduced by 7.5 per cent.

The Beachfront at Praia D'El Rey has a totally unique beach location.  These properties are to be built on the beach and all have huge terraces and frontline sea and beach views. Beachfront construction has been prohibited in Portugal since 1994, but the resort planning permissions predate these changes. This is probably the very last chance to buy a new luxury beachfront property in Portugal.

Two bedroom residences start at €458,000 (including a luxury furniture package and five per cent rental income per annum guaranteed for the first three years) and four bedroom apartments with private pools start at €1,295,000.

Conclusion

With its close proximity to Lisbon international airport, wonderful Atlantic climate and range of top quality, premium properties, Praia D'El Rey is clearly the Silver Coast region's flagship resort.
